This project delves into the complexity of human identity, exploring the duality between our conscious and unconscious selves.
Why do we shift between different aspects of ourselves depending on context?
This exploration asks whether a ‘true self’ even exists, or if our identity is constantly shaped by our environment and mental state.
Through the use of masks and video, I capture individuals, including myself, wearing these masks, often portraying emotions that are hidden beneath the surface.
By adopting these masks, I challenge the viewer to question what is revealed versus what is concealed,
pushing the boundaries of self-presentation and the blurred lines between who we truly are and how we are perceived by others.

My self-portrait masks, capturing the process of modeling my face shape with plaster bandages.

Gallery 1 : This series masks the start of my mask design based on the theme of human duality, focusing on creating double-sided masks
that capture opposing expressions and reveal inner contradiction.

Gallery 2 : This series mask is designed to be strong in structure but thin enough to crack, symbolizing the fragile balance
between outward strength and inner vulnerability within human duality.

Gallery 3 : I use photographic elements to create an uncanny resemblance within my masks and capture images of myself wearing these facades.
Often, I can’t see through the masks while wearing them, which mirrors my own lack of awareness of how I appear outwardly to others.

Gallery 4 : This is play with my self-portrait, creating a surreal and uncanny world that explores the inward mystery of human mind,
revealing the hidden layers of identity.
